Most dresses have one seam that decides where your waist is, and on a fuller body that seam usually ends up sitting on your belly instead. This one has none. The cloth hangs from the shoulder in a single piece all the way to the ankle, so there is no line for anything to sit wrong on. What changes between one body and the next is only how much of the width gets used.

The front opens into a V above the buttons

The button placket starts below the chest, so the closure is never sitting across the widest part of your bust. The top falls open into a deep V on its own, with no button doing that work. Nothing to pin and nothing to keep tugging shut.

Balloon sleeves take their width from the cut, not from your arm

The three-quarter sleeve is cut full and gathered into a small ruffled cuff down at the forearm, so the room is already there before your arm goes in. Reach for a top shelf and the body of the dress does not come up with you.
